# Gratitude Journal vs Journal

The clearest difference is update cadence: Gratitude Journal at weekly against Journal's every 4 months. Gratitude Journal also leads on ratings volume (15 vs 1). Journal's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gratitude Journal sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Journal sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Journal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gratitude Journal has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Gratitude Journal ships an update weekly, Journal every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
