# Axon vs NBConnected

The clearest difference is rating: Axon at 4.8 against NBConnected's 3.0. Axon also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). NBConnected's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs subscription) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Axon holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Axon has 1.3K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Axon ships an update every 2 weeks, NBConnected every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
