# PTMA vs Shadow Practice

The clearest difference is update cadence: Shadow Practice at weekly against PTMA's every 2 months. PTMA's advantage is iOS requirement (15.2 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PTMA sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Shadow Practice sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PTMA ships an update every 2 months, Shadow Practice weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
