# Screens 5 vs VimKey

The clearest difference is rating: Screens 5 at 4.5 against VimKey's 3.4. Screens 5 also leads on ratings volume (578 vs 5). VimKey's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks) and review sentiment (67% vs 49%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screens 5 sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and VimKey sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screens 5 holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screens 5 has 578 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Screens 5's written reviews are positive against 67% of VimKey's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Screens 5 ships an update every 2 weeks, VimKey every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
