# Sketch Pro vs Paint X

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Sketch Pro at 12K against Paint X's 364. Sketch Pro also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sketch Pro sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Paint X sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sketch Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sketch Pro has 12K ratings behind it against 364, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Sketch Pro's written reviews are positive against 87% of Paint X's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
