# ActiveMap vs VPN

The clearest difference is update cadence: VPN at weekly against ActiveMap's every 3 weeks. VPN also leads on chart position (#82 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ActiveMap sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $100.00 per month and VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ActiveMap ships an update every 3 weeks, VPN weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 14, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
