# Paperparrot vs Notes

Paperparrot and Notes both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 87% of Paperparrot's written reviews are positive against 50% of Notes's. Paperparrot also leads on ratings volume (16 vs 2). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paperparrot sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year and Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Paperparrot against 5.0 for Notes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Paperparrot has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 87% of Paperparrot's written reviews are positive against 50% of Notes's.

Paperparrot ships an update every 5 weeks, Notes every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
