# AI Chat vs Nova

The clearest difference is monetization model: AI Chat at free with in-app purchases against Nova's subscription. AI Chat also leads on ratings volume (1.9K vs 277). Nova's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 39%) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AI Chat sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Nova sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AI Chat holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AI Chat has 1.9K ratings behind it against 277, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of AI Chat's written reviews are positive against 75% of Nova's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AI Chat ships an update fortnightly, Nova weekly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
