# Chat AI vs Writing App

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Chat AI at 97% against Writing App's 25%. Chat AI also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). Writing App's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (92 vs 12). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chat AI sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Writing App sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Writing App holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Writing App has 92 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 97% of Chat AI's written reviews are positive against 25% of Writing App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chat AI ships an update fortnightly, Writing App every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
