# 极点VPN vs SonicHue

The clearest difference is ads: SonicHue at none against 极点VPN's shown. SonicHue also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). 极点VPN's advantage is ratings volume (28 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 极点VPN sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and SonicHue sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SonicHue holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 极点VPN has 28 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

极点VPN ships an update every 2 weeks, SonicHue fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
