# Lighthouse vs Security Master

The clearest difference is monetization model: Security Master at free with in-app purchases against Lighthouse's subscription. Security Master also leads on review sentiment (55% vs 41%) and ratings volume (4K vs 914). Lighthouse's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 11 days). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lighthouse sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per 7 days and Security Master sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Lighthouse against 4.4 for Security Master. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 914 and 4K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 41% of Lighthouse's written reviews are positive against 55% of Security Master's.

Lighthouse ships an update every 4 days, Security Master every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
