# Lighthouse vs VPN Fortress

The clearest difference is update cadence: VPN Fortress at daily against Lighthouse's weekly. VPN Fortress also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 41%). Lighthouse's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (915 vs 240). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lighthouse sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per 7 days and VPN Fortress sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lighthouse holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 915 and 240 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Lighthouse's written reviews are positive against 50% of VPN Fortress's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lighthouse ships an update weekly, VPN Fortress daily. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
