# MH Cam vs BackCam

The clearest difference is rating: BackCam at 3.5 against MH Cam's 2.8. BackCam also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). MH Cam's advantage is review sentiment (14% vs 0%) and ratings volume (16 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BackCam holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MH Cam has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of MH Cam's written reviews are positive against 0% of BackCam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MH Cam ships an update every 5 months, BackCam every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
