# Safe vs STAR/CHILD

The clearest difference is ads: Safe at none against STAR/CHILD's shown. Safe also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 36%) and iOS requirement (13.6 vs 16.2). STAR/CHILD's advantage is ratings volume (420 vs 7). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Safe sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and STAR/CHILD sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Safe holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: STAR/CHILD has 420 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of Safe's written reviews are positive against 36% of STAR/CHILD's.

Safe ships an update every 2 weeks, STAR/CHILD monthly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
