# HiveTracks vs HiveDiary

The clearest difference is monetization model: HiveDiary at free against HiveTracks's free with in-app purchases. HiveDiary also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). HiveTracks's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HiveTracks sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and HiveDiary sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HiveDiary holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HiveTracks has 1.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HiveTracks ships an update every 5 weeks, HiveDiary weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
