# AccuEd vs QuillScan

The clearest difference is rating: QuillScan at 5.0 against AccuEd's 4.0. AccuEd's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AccuEd sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $20.00 per month and QuillScan sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

QuillScan holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AccuEd has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AccuEd ships an update monthly, QuillScan every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
