# Notey vs Guitar Tabs

The clearest difference is rating: Guitar Tabs at 5.0 against Notey's 4.4. Notey's advantage is ratings volume (241 vs 5) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notey sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Guitar Tabs sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Guitar Tabs holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notey has 241 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Notey ships an update fortnightly, Guitar Tabs every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
