# Pomocat vs Focus Timer

The clearest difference is ads: Focus Timer at none against Pomocat's shown. Pomocat's advantage is ratings volume (482 vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pomocat sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Focus Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Pomocat against 5.0 for Focus Timer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pomocat has 482 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 94% of Pomocat's written reviews are positive against 100% of Focus Timer's.

Pomocat ships an update every 3 weeks, Focus Timer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
