# Mechanical Formula vs Lecture Recorder

The clearest difference is update cadence: Lecture Recorder at every 11 days against Mechanical Formula's every 4 months. Mechanical Formula's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mechanical Formula sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Lecture Recorder sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mechanical Formula ships an update every 4 months, Lecture Recorder every 11 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
