# Range Buddy vs Notch

The clearest difference is ads: Notch at none against Range Buddy's shown. Range Buddy's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Range Buddy sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Notch sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Range Buddy ships an update weekly, Notch every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
