# Pic Answer vs PhotoSolve

The clearest difference is monetization model: Pic Answer at free with in-app purchases against PhotoSolve's subscription. Pic Answer also leads on ads (none vs shown). PhotoSolve's advantage is review sentiment (72% vs 56%). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pic Answer sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and PhotoSolve sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pic Answer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3.4K and 1.4K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Pic Answer's written reviews are positive against 72% of PhotoSolve's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pic Answer ships an update fortnightly, PhotoSolve monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
