# QR Code vs SpritePrep

The clearest difference is ads: SpritePrep at none against QR Code's shown. SpritePrep also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). QR Code's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 26.0). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QR Code sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and SpritePrep sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

QR Code ships an update every 2 months, SpritePrep fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
