# PDF Format Converter vs PDF Editor

The clearest difference is monetization model: PDF Format Converter at free with in-app purchases against PDF Editor's subscription. PDF Editor's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Format Converter sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and PDF Editor sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for PDF Format Converter against 4.5 for PDF Editor. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 14 and 40 respectively.

PDF Format Converter ships an update every 2 months, PDF Editor every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
