# UnderBooks vs Readroom

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Readroom at none against UnderBooks's 10. Readroom also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly). UnderBooks's advantage is ratings volume (18 vs 1). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UnderBooks sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Readroom asks for nothing beyond the download.

Readroom holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UnderBooks has 18 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

UnderBooks ships an update monthly, Readroom every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
