# Notebook vs Appnote

The clearest difference is rating: Notebook at 4.3 against Appnote's 3.7. Notebook also leads on ratings volume (523 vs 3) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Appnote's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notebook sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Appnote asks for nothing beyond the download.

Notebook holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notebook has 523 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Notebook's written reviews are positive against 85% of Appnote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notebook ships an update every 3 weeks, Appnote every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
