# Nova vs PastTense

The clearest difference is update cadence: Nova at weekly against PastTense's monthly. Nova also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nova sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and PastTense sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nova ships an update weekly, PastTense monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
