# RCN Total vs CATV

The clearest difference is ads: CATV at none against RCN Total's shown. CATV also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and device support (5 vs 3). RCN Total's advantage is ratings volume (3K vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for RCN Total against 5.0 for CATV. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RCN Total has 3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

RCN Total ships an update fortnightly, CATV every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
