# TV Remote vs Connect TV Remote

TV Remote and Connect TV Remote both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 56% of TV Remote's written reviews are positive against 9% of Connect TV Remote's. TV Remote also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 3 days vs monthly). Connect TV Remote's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, in-app purchases and chart position there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TV Remote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Connect TV Remote sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for TV Remote against 4.6 for Connect TV Remote. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TV Remote has 60K ratings behind it against 2.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 56% of TV Remote's written reviews are positive against 9% of Connect TV Remote's.

TV Remote ships an update every 3 days, Connect TV Remote monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
