# SoundExtreme vs Register 2

The clearest difference is rating: Register 2 at 5.0 against SoundExtreme's 2.5. Register 2 also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). SoundExtreme's advantage is ratings volume (23 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Register 2 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SoundExtreme has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SoundExtreme ships an update every 2 months, Register 2 every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
