# Hode vs Addons

The clearest difference is ads: Addons at none against Hode's shown. Addons also leads on ratings volume (350 vs 56) and device support (4 vs 2). Hode's advantage is review sentiment (94% vs 60%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hode sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Addons sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Hode against 4.6 for Addons. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Addons has 350 ratings behind it against 56, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 94% of Hode's written reviews are positive against 60% of Addons's.

Hode ships an update every 6 weeks, Addons every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
