# VPN vs STS2

The clearest difference is ads: STS2 at none against VPN's shown. STS2 also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). VPN's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

VPN ships an update weekly, STS2 every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
