# Side Out vs Pickleball

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Side Out at none against Pickleball's 3. Side Out also leads on ratings volume (88 vs 3). Pickleball's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pickleball sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Side Out asks for nothing beyond the download.

Pickleball holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Side Out has 88 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Side Out ships an update fortnightly, Pickleball every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
