# App Lock vs Hidem

The clearest difference is ads: App Lock at none against Hidem's shown. App Lock also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks). Hidem's advantage is ratings volume (928 vs 266). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App Lock sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Hidem sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

App Lock holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 266 and 928 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of App Lock's written reviews are positive against 74% of Hidem's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

App Lock ships an update weekly, Hidem every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
