# Prodigy Math vs Math Prodigy

The clearest difference is ads: Math Prodigy at none against Prodigy Math's shown. Math Prodigy also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). Prodigy Math's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (100 vs 7). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Prodigy Math sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 3 months and Math Prodigy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Prodigy Math against 4.3 for Math Prodigy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prodigy Math has 100 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of Prodigy Math's written reviews are positive against 100% of Math Prodigy's.

Prodigy Math ships an update every 3 weeks, Math Prodigy every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
