# Prodigy Math vs Math Prodigy

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Math Prodigy at none against Prodigy Math's 8. Math Prodigy also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). Prodigy Math's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (96 vs 6). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Prodigy Math sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 3 months. Math Prodigy asks for nothing beyond the download.

Prodigy Math holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prodigy Math has 96 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Prodigy Math's written reviews are positive against 100% of Math Prodigy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Prodigy Math ships an update every 3 weeks, Math Prodigy every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
