# PDF Editor vs FreePDF

The clearest difference is rating: PDF Editor at 4.4 against FreePDF's 1.8. PDF Editor also leads on review sentiment (48% vs 11%) and ratings volume (38 vs 5). FreePDF's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Editor sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and FreePDF sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Editor holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Editor has 38 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 48% of PDF Editor's written reviews are positive against 11% of FreePDF's.

PDF Editor ships an update every 6 weeks, FreePDF weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
