# Transcribe vs Audio

The clearest difference is rating: Audio at 5.0 against Transcribe's 4.5. Audio also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). Transcribe's advantage is ratings volume (457 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Transcribe sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Audio sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Audio holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Transcribe has 457 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Transcribe ships an update every 6 weeks, Audio fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
