# Primal vs Radar

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Radar at none against Primal's 5. Radar also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 2 weeks) and device support (3 vs 1). Primal's advantage is ratings volume (936 vs 18) and review sentiment (87% vs 67%). On price, rating, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Primal sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Radar asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Primal against 4.8 for Radar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Primal has 936 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 87% of Primal's written reviews are positive against 67% of Radar's.

Primal ships an update every 2 weeks, Radar daily. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
