# Primal vs GuestSpotter

The clearest difference is rating: Primal at 4.9 against GuestSpotter's 4.2. Primal also leads on ratings volume (936 vs 5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Primal sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and GuestSpotter sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $119.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Primal holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Primal has 936 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Primal ships an update every 2 weeks, GuestSpotter fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
