# Note X vs BoardNotes

The clearest difference is update cadence: BoardNotes at every 10 days against Note X's every 10 months. BoardNotes also leads on ratings volume (115 vs 23). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Note X sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and BoardNotes sells 23 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Note X against 4.7 for BoardNotes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BoardNotes has 115 ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Note X ships an update every 10 months, BoardNotes every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on September 16, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
