# Evernote vs Notebook

The clearest difference is ads: Evernote at none against Notebook's shown. Evernote also leads on chart position (#32 vs unranked) and ratings volume (78K vs 14K). Notebook's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and review sentiment (72% vs 50%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Evernote sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $13.95 per month and Notebook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notebook holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Evernote has 78K ratings behind it against 14K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Evernote's written reviews are positive against 72% of Notebook's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
