# iTip Calc by PalaSoftware vs Split

The clearest difference is rating: iTip Calc by PalaSoftware at 4.8 against Split's 4.0. iTip Calc by PalaSoftware also leads on ratings volume (9.9K vs 4). Split's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iTip Calc by PalaSoftware sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Split sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iTip Calc by PalaSoftware holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iTip Calc by PalaSoftware has 9.9K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of iTip Calc by PalaSoftware's written reviews are positive against 100% of Split's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iTip Calc by PalaSoftware ships an update every 2 months, Split every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
