# Units vs Converter (unit conversions)

The clearest difference is rating: Converter (unit conversions) at 4.7 against Units's 4.1. Converter (unit conversions) also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2K vs 49). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Units sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Converter (unit conversions) sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Converter (unit conversions) holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Converter (unit conversions) has 2K ratings behind it against 49, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Units's written reviews are positive against 56% of Converter (unit conversions)'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Units ships an update monthly, Converter (unit conversions) every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
