# Google vs WalterAI

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WalterAI at none against Google's 37. WalterAI also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). Google's advantage is ratings volume (5.3M vs 228) and update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly). On price, rating, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Google sells 22 in-app purchases, starting at $0.89 per month. WalterAI asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Google against 4.7 for WalterAI. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Google has 5.3M ratings behind it against 228, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 59% and 60% positive.

Google ships an update every 6 days, WalterAI monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
