# Tripadvisor vs NOL

The clearest difference is ads: NOL at none against Tripadvisor's shown. Tripadvisor's advantage is ratings volume (482K vs 4.6K) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Tripadvisor against 4.8 for NOL. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tripadvisor has 482K ratings behind it against 4.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of Tripadvisor's written reviews are positive against 80% of NOL's.

Tripadvisor ships an update weekly, NOL fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
