# Nitrox Tools vs Dive Calculator

The clearest difference is price: Dive Calculator at Free against Nitrox Tools's $5.99. Dive Calculator also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 88%) and ratings volume (24 vs 4). Nitrox Tools's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Dive Calculator is free to download; Nitrox Tools costs $5.99 up front. Dive Calculator sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Nitrox Tools asks for nothing beyond the download.

Nitrox Tools holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dive Calculator has 24 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Nitrox Tools's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dive Calculator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Nitrox Tools ships an update every 5 months, Dive Calculator every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
