# Flashlight. vs Flashlight™ (Lite)

The clearest difference is rating: Flashlight™ (Lite) at 3.9 against Flashlight.'s 2.8. Flashlight™ (Lite) also leads on ratings volume (2K vs 267). Flashlight.'s advantage is review sentiment (62% vs 27%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 10 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Flashlight™ (Lite) holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flashlight™ (Lite) has 2K ratings behind it against 267, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Flashlight.'s written reviews are positive against 27% of Flashlight™ (Lite)'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flashlight. ships an update every 2 months, Flashlight™ (Lite) every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
