# Catholic Calendar vs Daily Scripture

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Daily Scripture at none against Catholic Calendar's 10. Daily Scripture also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 82%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). Catholic Calendar's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (916 vs 42). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Catholic Calendar sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Daily Scripture asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Catholic Calendar against 4.8 for Daily Scripture. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Catholic Calendar has 916 ratings behind it against 42, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 82% of Catholic Calendar's written reviews are positive against 100% of Daily Scripture's.

Catholic Calendar ships an update every 3 weeks, Daily Scripture every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and June 11, 2026 respectively.
