# Calc vs Calculi

The clearest difference is rating: Calculi at 4.4 against Calc's 3.9. Calculi also leads on ratings volume (383 vs 28). Calc's advantage is review sentiment (81% vs 51%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calc sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Calculi sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calculi holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calculi has 383 ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Calc's written reviews are positive against 51% of Calculi's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
