# The Scriptures vs KJV Apocrypha

The clearest difference is review sentiment: The Scriptures at 68% against KJV Apocrypha's 23%. The Scriptures also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 14.0). KJV Apocrypha's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 143). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Scriptures sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and KJV Apocrypha sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

KJV Apocrypha holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KJV Apocrypha has 1.3K ratings behind it against 143, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of The Scriptures's written reviews are positive against 23% of KJV Apocrypha's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Scriptures ships an update every 5 weeks, KJV Apocrypha every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
